EVALUATION ON THE ENTIRE COURSEWORK
1) What aspects of Home ec did you like?
i like home econs because i get to cook different types of dishes in class with my friends which i don't do at home. Home econs helps me take a break from listening to the teachers in class, to rest my mind. i can learn cooking skills because i don't really cook my own dishes at home.
2) What aspects of Home ec did you not like?
what i don't like is that we have to do a large amount of coursework before the final practical. this takes up alot of my time considering that there are many other homework. i would also prefer if our test practical was pair work, that way, we can share our ideas and make a better dish, or like a course meal, that would be interesting!!
3) Identify your strengths. Not only cooking, but the entire coursework. (e.g. proficient IT skills, good at researching, etc.)
i am good at typing out all my coursework tasks in a very fast time. I am good at decoarating my dish nicely. From original recipe to my final practical, i have added alot more decoarations. i am able to stick to the datelines and hand in work consistently. i am confident with the stove and fire. i am not scared of it.
4) Identify your weaknesses. Not only in cooking, but the entire coursework (e.g. poor time management, don't know how to modify recipes, etc.)
i don't have alot of patience to find alot on research. i tend to get nervous when i cannot find my ingredients or when there is not alot of time left. In the end, i always finish my dish straight on time leaving no spare time to neaten up. Sometimes, i don't wash the dishes properly, leaving food marks on them. I am trying to work on my weaknesses :D
5) List down at least 3 learning points that you have gained from doing this entire coursework.
- I learnt to make my dishes as healthy as possible.
- I leant to modify my recipe and practice makes perfect.
- I learnt that the presentation, furnishing and the appearance really matters to attract people to eat the dish.

PART A
PART A
a. Evaluate your final product based on taste, mouth feel, texture and colour.
My final product was successful. Even though i was abit short of time, i managed to rush and finish the topping on my muffins. The colour and texture was what i wanted. Light brown. In muffins, there isn't really a texture, but, i can see that the texture was what it supposed to be. The taste was not to sweet and not too tasteless. It was good. The mouthfeel, it was a bit chewy like my last few tries: the original recipe and the modified. But, this round, the muffins was less chewy than others, which is good. However, this could be better if it got a perfect taste!
b. Did your dish meet the requirements of the course question? How so?
yes. i managed to make it look appetising. i added a lot of decorations. I also added cinammon inside my muffin mixture as it is a spice. My dish was presented very nicely and creative. There are fruits in my dish, in fact, alot of fruits, apples, carrots, bananas, blueberries which is healthy. Muffins can be easily eaten even though if you are in a rush to school. The objective is to make a student's breakfast. I think that muffins are a convenient dish to eat in the morning.
c. List down your strengths.
i was able to present the dish nicely and i had alot of decorations here and there. I abled to do dove-tailing. When my muffins were baking, i decorated the plate to get ready and i washed dishes. This was to safe time or else, i would have over exceeded the time limit. This is very important.
d. List down your weaknesses.
I panicked when it there was a few more minutes left. I thought i wasn't able to finish in time, but, luckily there was a few more minutes given.. I forgot to preheat the oven from the start.. i only preheated the oven only when i started putting the mixture in the baking cups, only then did i realise. i have to be more aware and less forgetful.
e. If you could do it again, how would you improvise to make it better?
i would be more cautious and careful of the time given. i would also put more nutella spread on top of my muffins. i must make sure i dont waste any second and concentrate on getting the dish ready on time.
